Endoscopy

What is an endoscopy?

Endoscopy is an internal examination using a flexible tube with a tiny video camera on the end. At Intus we offer various endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy (stomach), colonoscopy (large bowel) and sigmoidoscopy (the lower end of the large bowel known as the Sigmoid colon). Endoscopy is a simple, non invasive way to look inside the body to enable a specialist to gather valuable diagnostic information.

How do I know if I need an endoscopy?

Your GP will be able to inform you if an endoscopic procedure is appropriate and can provide you with a referral to see a specialist.
