Payment arrangements


Consultations

Payment at the time of service would be appreciated and may be made in cash, by cheque, Eftpos or credit card.

Please note we do not accept American Express.

Payment may also be made by internet banking (our bank account number is provided on your invoice) or over the phone with your credit card details.

Accounts are due for full payment within 7 days of invoice date.

Endoscopy procedures: gastroscopy and colonoscopy

Patients with Private Health Insurance

Intus is an affiliated provider with Southern Cross Health Insurance. If you are a Southern Cross member Intus will apply for funding for you – we just need your Southern Cross membership number.

For all other insurance companies we provide you with an approximated estimate for you to obtain a prior approval: this enables the insurance company to pay their share of the account rather than you paying first and then claiming a refund.

Intus does not send invoices directly to your insurance company so please forward the invoice promptly to them so they can pay us.

Please notify Intus of your pre approval number prior to your procedure.

Patients without private health insurance

Please note: invoices are due for payment within 7 days of invoice date.

Surgical procedures

At the time of your specialist consultation you will be provided with your surgeon’s approximate costs for the surgery you are to undergo. You will be given the anaesthetist and hospital phone numbers so you can obtain their approximate costs for the procedure as well.

If your treatment/surgery is covered by insurance you will need to arrange prior approval from your insurance company.

Please notify Intus of that number prior to your procedure.

After your surgical procedure you will receive three separate invoices, from your surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital. We request that you forward all invoices directly to your insurance company for payment as Intus does not liaise directly with insurance companies regarding claims.

ACC patients

If your treatment/surgery is covered by ACC, please provide Intus administrative staff with your claim number.
